Rande Allen
Money was born on
December 9, 1951 in Cody,
Wyoming to Gailand and
Leona Money. They moved
to Buffalo in 1960. Rande
graduated from Buffalo
High School in 1970. After
high school he attended the
University of Wyoming,
where he met the love of
his life, Kathryn Gibbs.
In 1971 he enlisted in the
United States Air Force.
He was stationed at Myrtle Beach, followed by Warren Air Force
Base. Rande was honorably discharged in 1973. Kathryn and he
were married on July 21, 1973, in Gillette, Wyoming, and made
their home in Buffalo. After they were married Rande served
with the National Guard. Their first daughter Heather was born
in 1974, followed by their second daughter Paige in 1976. Rande
worked numerous jobs in his lifetime, including construction,
cooking at the Crossroads, delivering Frito-Lay, Ray’s Liquor,
the post office, and Wolf Creek Charitable Foundation. For the
past several years, he had been the IT Department Manager for
Johnson County, and the Lake DeSmet Operations Manager.
Rande was perhaps best known for his love of falconry, a hobby
he had done for well over 30 years. Flying his birds was one of
the greatest joys in his life. He also loved watching old TV shows,
and spending time in the outdoors fishing, camping, geocaching
and riding his Harley. He was an amazing singer, having been a
member of a barbershop quartet, as well as the Catholic Church
choir. His latest passion was building and flying his RC planes.
Rande received the most joy out of life when he was spending
time with his family. His two grandsons, Peyton and Brecken,
were his world.
Rande is survived by his wife Kathy Money of Buffalo; two
daughters, Heather Miller and her husband Jason of Cheyenne
and Paige Money of Buffalo; his mother Leona Money, two
brothers, Kerry Money and his wife Rhonda of Buffalo and
David Money and his partner Jennifer Kennedy of Santé Fe,
New Mexico; two sisters, Christine Hall and her husband Rich of
Buffalo and Cathy Nicholas and her husband Tom of Cheyenne;
two grand- children, Peyton and Brecken both of Cheyenne and
numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his
father Gailand Money.
